Let the Hand-Me-Downs Begin ...

And it begins ... we had to pull out a pair of shoes from Judson's old stuff for Jentry. They are slightly big, but she is enjoying her walker when we go outside to watch Judson play and the sandals just down grip the slick contrete. So, she has a really cute pink dress on with hearts all over it and her boyish shoes that are navy with a hint of orange! :) She still looks cute, though!

A couple of hand-me-downs I am looking forward to include his old green john deere shirt and his green johnny popper boots that will look super cute with her blue jean mini and her yellow head bow (we have head bows ... not hair bows ... due to the lack of hair)!

Easy and Good Recipe Lost, but Found ...

Crockpot Mexican Fiesta

1 bag white corn tortilla chips
1 pound ground beef
1 can ranch style beans
3 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can of mild rotel
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 cup onion - chopped

Spray crock pot with non-stick spray and cover the bottom with slightly rushed chips. Combine soups, rotel, chili powder, and onion in a separate bowl and blen well with a whisk. Brown ground beef in a skillet, drain fat, and add ranch style beans and mix together. (DO NOT drain the beans). Layer half of the beef mixture over the chips, then half of the soup mixture over the beef, ending with half of the cheese over the beef. Repeat these layers once more beginnings with chips and ending with cheese. Cook on high in crock pot for three hours.

Last time I made this, we ate it twice and then still had a little left. I also made some mexican rice to go with it! Very good and easy!

Jentry laughing at Judson ...

Beautiful Day to be Outside ...

We tried out the new bubble machine, the bubble wand, and our newest set of golf clubs today! It was so nice, we had to take our jackets off!

The $1 Bubble Wands at Walmart are well worth it and make huge bubbles! The Bubble Machine at Walmart is well worth the $10! Don't waste your money buying the slightly bigger, $15 one. I couldn't imagine how it could possibly make any more bubbles!

Successful Shopping ...

Today, I decided to brave it and take my almost 5 month old and my 2 1/2 year old shopping in Stephenville! I have NEVER taken them both anywhere like this by myself, except to our local grocery store. I decided I couldn't wait for Walmart any longer and I really wanted to get Jentry these cute jelly shoes my mom had seen at Payless!

I told myself there was no reason to rush ... I had nothing else I HAD to accomplish! So, we left at 12:15 and walked back in the door at 5:30! It was not near the trouble I thought it would be, but I obviously took my sweet time too! We ate, went to Walmart, then Payless, then Bealls, then 4 Kids Only, then JCPenney! After that I even rounded up Jason's grandma's b-day gift (which took 3 stops).

The kids were very well behaved! Judson got three new Thomas trains, a new Thomas video, a bubble wand and a bubble machine, and a new plastic set of golf clubs since he was such a big boy and listened perfectly! And Jentry did well herself with some new bows, 3 new outfits, her jelly shoes, a Minnie Mouse video, and zebra sunglasses! Looking back, they both really made a haul! I am ready to try out the new bubble machine myself though! I did ok too though ... a new shirt from JCPenney and two Tarleton shirts from Barefoot Athletics while I was in there too.

Fun Day! Now, hopefully the sun is shining tomorrow so we can break out the bubble machine and wand!!!

Lazy, Snowy Day ...

Oh, the snow is beautiful! I just wish Jentry was about a year older so I could take both kids out to play! I just don't want her to get too cold! Hopefully, we will have the opportunity next year or go to Colorado! :)

Today has been a day of doing NOTHING and it has been very nice! I went grocery shopping yesterday, knowing that I didn't want to go to the store today with both kids in this weather! Thank you Pete Delkus for the weather forecast!

Judson counted to 12 yesterday and I was so happy for him! He counted to 10 a few weeks ago and then he was sitting there yesterday and just started counting things and got all the way to 12!!! No mistakes at all.

I was just sitting here asking him our names ... I asked what's mommy's name ... he repiled "mommy" and when I told him it was Jessica, he replied pronouncing it "Jestica." He always knows Jason's name b/c he hears him on the phone telling people that "it's Jason Coalson."

Jentry has been a great little eater with all her new foods that we are introducing! She has loved her oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots too! Judson was never a baby food eater! I am excited to give her the fruits with her cereal soon (they have to be better). I am not a veggie person, but I hope both of my kids are. Judson is funny ... one day he'll eat something, the next he won't. He's been eating salad though whenever Jason does ... I think he really likes the dressing and cheese! :) He also will occasionally snack on grape tomatoes, which he thinks are just bright red grapes (He loves grapes)!

Busy Life and Back to Hamilton ...

Now that I am a full time housewife, mom, part-time insurance agent, and secretary for my husband's two businesses ... I am BUSY! No complaints here ... BUSY is good, especially when it involves having your kiddos with you and working at the same time!

To add to our wonderful, busy life, we closed today to start building our NEXT house. It is in Hamilton and on our acreage we bought last year! Very exciting, and I have my long list of things to do different from last time we built ... I will be picking out more of the little things ... fixtures etc. But, I won't get too attached, I know it will be for sale ASAP! :) When we move into this house it will be our 9th move since we were married in 2003!

Here are some pics of the place ... the rain did our tank really good and even filled the creek!

Our eventful time while dad was gone hunting ...

Just to warn you ... I wrote this really quick and did not read back over it ... maybe tomorrow! Please ignore any errors ...

Wow, it has been a while since I have had any time to blog! Lots to say ...

Jason went on a spur of the moment hunting trip on Tuesday, the 9th. He was eating at El Jardin for lunch with a friend and a hunting guide called and had a cancellation and so they got a "deal." So, my husband and three of his friends headed for Arizona that afternoon! VERY SPUR OF THE MOMENT! So, the kids and I were alone for the first time EVER! I decided that we would probably go to my parents for a few nights since Jason was going to be back FRIDAY, but I wanted to go ahead and stay at our house on Tuesday night, get the house cleanish, and then go and stay in Hamilton 2 nights. At 9:15 that evening, all was coming together ... Jentry was watching cartoons, Judson playing still, I had washed all the clothes and was going to pick up the kitchen the next morning, then go to Hamilton. Next thing I know my son runs through my room, trips on the rocker, and smacks his head on the door frame leading into the bathroom. Initially, from impact, it looked as if the bump was going in instead of out which I knew was bad. I called 911! 2nd time in my life I have ever done that (Shelley Hale can probably remember the only other time I ever called 911 ... whole other story). By the time the EMS people got there, I knew I had overreacted since I was home alone! But, better to be safe than sorry, I guess! Thankfully, I knew both the ladies (figured I would doing the AFLAC for the HGH employees). Jessica Sellers was one and she went in and watched Jentry for me while the other checked Judson out and confirmed that he was alright and just needed to be watched! Small town life is great and I was never so happy to see Jessica! I am extremely overprotective as a parent and was so glad she was the one I could have watch Jentry for those few minutes! I also called my parents after 911 and we ended up going ahead and staying with them that night too! So much for cleaning the kitchen the next morning (I thought about it until I got home again)!

Then, Friday, Jason was SUPPOSED to be heading back. He did get a mountain lion that morning ... he ended up getting home MONDAY at 8 am!!! Little different than the initial plan, but he had fun (though he REALLY missed the kids). His mountain lion is going in the record books too! Here's photos ...

Monday night, Judson decides to spin circles in the bedroom while taking a break from golfing. He trips and hits his head on the corner of the dresser! BOYS!!!! So now he had two knots on his head! Poor kid ... Terrible Two's have something to do with it too I guess! Photo follows that shows the bruise from the door frame above his right eye!

Just to clarify ... this was the first time Jason has ever gone anywhere since having kids! What a great feeling for him I'm sure to be on your way to AZ and get a call from the wife that she had to call 911 because your son's hit his head! Poor guy! He is WAY more overprotective than me ... if that's possible!

under the weather ...

i woke up monday with a sore throat and about 45 seconds later i hear judson cough and i can just tell that his throat hurts too! so, here we are on friday ... wait, now it's saturday ... and he is now coughing worse and has had a fever this evening! lovely. so, we are waiting to see how the night goes to decide whether or not we will have to make a trip to see the pediatrician in waco on a saturday morning ... thus far i think the otc meds are working ... dimetap, robitussin, and motrin! they had me give him regular robitussin ... not the children's ... so it does not taste good at all. he LOVES "mesidin" as he says, so i have to trick him and give him all the good stuff first, then throw in the nasty stuff last! then once he realizes he's been tricked he runs out of the room, because he knows i will try and make him finish up what's left in the little cup! haha! kind of humorous.

he did take a 3 hour nap this afternoon and we followed it up with a bath that included the soothing vapor bath that smells like vicks! he did like that ... here's a pic! :)
